Former Hermosa Beach Resident Dies

Services will be held at the Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery in San Diego in later this month for Eugene Romeo Baldocchi.

Former Hermosea Beach resident Eugene Romeo Baldocchi, 89, died on April 27, according to The Friday Flyer out of Canyon Lake where he lived. He was surrounded by close family, according to the report.

Baldocchi, his wife, Jan Nathan, and six sons moved to Hermosa Beach in 1974 and lived there for many years before moving to Canyon Lake in 2002.

He served in WWII as a decorated radio operator/pilot and later went on to be a successful engineer in the aerospace industry. He loved to travel and play sports but golf was his passion.

Baldocchi, born October 22, 1923, is survived by daughter, Carmel; sons, Tom Nathan, Mark Nathan, Corey Nathan, Terry Nathan, Tome Baldocchi and Chio Baldocchi; and 15 grandchildren. His daughter Lisa preceded him in death.

A private funeral will be held at the Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery in San Diego in later this month. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the U.S. Military or Veterans associations, according to the report.
