A weekly look at the craft beer scene and beer events in the South Bay of Los Angeles.

South Bay Brews news is still a new and evolving column and we would love your ideas and suggestions to make the column better. What do you want to see in the column? Send an email to John.Schreiber@patch.com and let me know what beer-related news you want to hear about in the South Bay.

El Segundo Brewing | El Segundo

El Segundo Brewing will begin brewing its popular Blue House IPA again after a year hiatus. According to the brewers, a new batch of Simcoe hops arrived at the brewery allowing for the beer to be brewed.

"We have missed this beer," said Tom of El Segundo Brewing.

The beer will be released on Black Friday, Nov. 23 at the brewery's tap room in El Segundo. "We are trying to work it back into the regular lineup around town as well," said Tom.

According to El Segundo Brewing, Blue House IPA is a "Fuller bodied IPA with Crystal 15, 40 and Munich malts providing a broad base for the irresponsible amount of Simcoe we dry hop this bad boy with."

El Segundo will also move its "Locals Night" from Monday to Wednesday starting next week. Local El Segundo residents receive 20 percent off beer at the brewery with proof of residency or a pay stub from an El Segundo business.

Starting next week, the brewery will also be closed on Mondays.

Tap room hours for beer tasting and growler fills are:

Wednesday-Friday: 5-9 p.m.
Saturday: 2-9 p.m.
Sunday: 2-7 p.m.

The Brewery at Abigaile | Hermosa Beach

Head brewer Brian Brewer just completed a new beer which has been named "Exile IPA." According to Brewer, the new beer is a West Coast-style IPA with Australian roots.

The beer was brewed with an ale yeast strain from Australia and was then dry hopped with Australian Galaxy hops, Zythos hops, Summit hops and Simcoe hops. The result is a unique and tropical hop infusion in the beer.

Exile IPA, with at 7.1% alcohol by volume, is now available on tap at Abigaile
