Hermosa Beach Youth Music at Forum Music Fest

HERMOSA BEACH YOUTH MUSIC AT THE FORUM MUSIC FESTIVAL

national standards.  This is their first time to participate at the adjudicated event held in Irvine High School.

The Band played several concert pieces including  “In The Calm of the Starry Sky” and “The Bermuda Triangle” , conducted by Band director, Ken Harrison. The Band members, ranging from 4th-8th grade , earned a Silver rating for their “clear tone, good balance & blend as an ensemble”.

Under the musical direction of Yohan Partan,  the Chorus comprising of kids from 3rd-8th grade, received a Silver rating performing “Eatnemen Vuelie” , a chant popularized by the movie, “Frozen”.  They also sang  “Can You Hear Me?” using sign language.  Chorus were commended for their “great presence and energy, good intonation and pitch”. 

Members of the band and chorus, who are students of Hermosa Valley School , spent the afternoon in Disneyland following the festival.
