Thanksgiving Day Dining Options

From cozy beachside dining to lavish buffet spreads, there are plenty of local choices for dining out on Thanksgiving.

One of the best parts about dining out on Thanksgiving is that there aren't any dishes to wash. Here are a few restaurants offering a Thanksgiving meal Thursday.

This longtime Hermosa Beach gem offers views of the Strand and ocean from its Strandside perch. On Thanksgiving, Scotty's offers roast turkey with stuffing or baked ham that is served with dinner rolls, soup or salad, peas and carrots, candied yams or mashed potatoes, apple or cranberry sauce, and a choice of pumpkin pie, apple pie or pecan pie for $14.95 plus tax per person.

After you've eaten all of that Thanksgiving meal, take a walk on the beach, the Strand or Pier Avenue. The sights and sounds of the sea and a little exercise will add to your day. Reservations taken at 310-318-7152.

The View at Manhattan Beach Marriott is the place to go if not everyone in your group wants a traditional Thanksgiving meal. In addition to a carving station with turkey and Black Forest ham, and pumpkin soup, stuffing, mashed potatoes, and vegetables, the restaurant also offers grilled-to-order lamb chops, pasta and seafood including halibut, crab claws and jumbo shrimp via two separate stations. A dessert table will top off your meal nicely.

Two seatings: 12 and 2 p.m. Reservations taken at 310-939-1482. A meal is $49 for adults, $24 for children 11 and under, and free for children five and under.

Thanksgiving diners at Baleen Los Angeles in neighboring Redondo Beach will find an elegant setting right on the water. Perched aside a marina full of boats, Baleen offers a nice respite from the day-to-day world. It's situated with The Portofino Hotel & Yacht Club, but removed enough to feel private.

Diners who want options beyond turkey will find them here, as slow-roasted prime rib, roasted salmon, jumbo shrimp cocktail, oysters and all sorts of delectables are available.

Baleen is open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Thanksgiving. Reservations taken at 877-225-3365. A meal for adults is $59, $19 for children 4-12, and free for children three and under.

Freedom is based on a sure identity, that I know who I am, but more importantly WHOSE I am. WhenRead More the LORD sent Moses to deliver His people, that was the beginning of their liberty. They were a particular people to the LORD, whose name is better understand as "He who was, is, and always will be." Not a god made of stone or wood, but the One who made, makes, and evermore makes and gives to us: the LORD took Israel by the hand and led them from bondage to slavery. Not who you are, but whose you are, makes all the difference between bondage and liberty: "For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father." (Romans 8: 15) Have you been adopted yet? "
