Alleged Motorcycle Thief Arrested at Gunpoint
Michael Dille is taken into custody after a brief foot chase, police say.
A South Gate resident was taken into custody after he allegedly crashed a stolen motorcycle into two cars, then led police on a foot chase that ended at gunpoint Monday evening, according to a news release from the Hermosa Beach Police Department.
Police believe Michael Harold Dille, 39, collided with two vehicles near Pier and Ardmore. Hermosa Beach Fire Department firefighters in the area saw Dille running away from the scene, police said.
Other witnesses pointed police in the direction they saw Dille running, and Sgt. Don Jones discovered him climbing over a residential fence in the 800 block of 17th Street, police said.

According to police, Jones took Dille into custody at gunpoint and witnesses then identified him as the motorcyclist in the collision.
Dille was booked into jail on suspicion of possession of a stolen vehicle and leaving the scene of an accident, police said.

The motorcycle involved in the crash was initially reported stolen in Long Beach on May 28.
