City to Increase Police Patrols This Weekend

City officials say they are working with other agencies to up their policing efforts for the weekend. During the past two weekends, Hermosa Beach has had sexual assaults, robbery and stabbing incidents.

Police in Hermosa Beach are working with regional and neighboring policing agencies to further increase patrols in the city this weekend, said City Manager Tom Bakaly late Thursday.

Hermosa Beach police increased patrols last weekend in response to Labor Day weekend incidents that included the stabbing of two men on Pier Plaza and a robbery and assault in the 100 block of 21st Street.

For last weekend, HBPD basically doubled its patrol numbers, having 6 to 7 officers on duty at any given time, beginning around 7 p.m. Friday and ending around 3 a.m. Monday, according a city spokesperson.

During that time period, two women were sexually assaulted and robbed on the grounds of Hermosa Valley School Saturday around 2 a.m.

Good! More patrols are necessary after the stabbing (black guy) and the sexual assault and robbery (2 black guys). Black guys....TRY to surprise us, stop being the stereotype you so disdain, and complaining that people profile you. It's us smart people that have the power of pattern recognition that notice this stuff. Aim higher.

Screw holding back due to racial profiling I would rather be safe. I wouldn't be upset if I was stopped and questioned by the police but then again I have nothing to hide. The laws I break I am willing to admit to and pay the fine not jerk the community around. Keep the thugs out of Hermosa!

What are the names of these violent scum? Do their Mama, Daddies, and/or Cuzes live in the area? If so identify them too! Let's clean Hermosa Beach out of bad seeds. One violent crime, you're gone for good. One crime against property, you're gone for good. We can leave the victimless crimes alone, because those aren't even crimes. But the violent guys and the thieves? DESTROY 'EM.
