Crime Blotter: Assaults and Burglaries

Crimes reported in Hermosa Beach during the week of March 19 - 25.

The following crimes were reported to the Hermosa Beach Police Department, as posted by the department on CrimeReports.com.

March 19: Theft, 1000 block of 14th Street. Suspect stole hockey gear that the owner had spread on a driveway to dry. The owner later found the gear at a sports equipment consignment store. Store owner reportedly has information on seller.

March 21: Burglary, Unnamed items were removed from inside a home on the 2300 block of Valley Drive.

March 23: Theft, 500 block of Pier Avenue, reporting person reviewing company records discovered that an unknown person had been repeatedly using the company's gas card without permission between March 10 and 19, for purchases totaling $1,426.41.

March 23: Burglary, 900 block Aviation Boulevard, suspect or suspects entered a hotel room and took unnamed items.

March 24: Breaking and Entering, 400 block of Longfellow Avenue. Suspect or suspects opened a locked garage, however, nothing was stolen and it is unknown whether anyone actually entered the garage.

March 24: Domestic Assault, 2000 block of Pacific Coast Highway. Boyfriend and girlfriend get invovled in a physical altercation. It was determined that the boyfriend was the dominant aggressor and he was arrested.

March 24: Theft, 1 block of Pier Plaza. A woman's purse was stolen while she was visiting with a small group of friends inside a local business. There is possible suspect information, however the woman is not interested in prosecution, only that her property be returned.

March 25: Assault, 1200 block Hermosa Avenue. Known suspect reportedly sucker punched the victim, causing abrasions and bruising during an altercation inside Cafe Boobaloo. The report does not say whether the suspect was arrested or cited.
