VIDEO: Funeral Services Tuesday for Firefighter Carlos Lopez
The former Manhattan Beach reserve firefighter died last Tuesday.
Funeral services for Carlos Lopez, 36, the Hermosa Beach firefighter who died last Tuesday while off duty will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 24 at Saint Catherine Church, 3846 Redondo Beach Blvd., Torrance, according to a post on the Facebook page "Heroes Honor Firefighter Carlos Lopez Last Alarm 9/17/2013."
On Saturday, at the start of the Scott Firefighter Challenge Lopez had planned to compete in, fellow Hermosa Beach firefighters performed a "Carlos Lopez Tribute Run" in his memory. The entire event was also held in honor of Lopez.
Lopez was a reserve firefighter with the Manhattan Beach Fire Department prior to joining the Hermosa Beach department.
