Hermosa Crime: Smashing Pumpkins

The Hermosa Beach Police Department supplied this information on recent crime in Hermosa Beach.

The Hermosa Beach Police Department reported the following crimes and arrests in Hermosa Beach for the past seven days.

This week's reports include an individual stealing from a clothing donation box, a local transient smashing pumpkins and someone making annoying phone calls.

Vandalism

Oct. 19, 2:40 a.m., 1100 block of Pacific Coast Highway
A known local transient allegedly smashed pumpkins displayed outside of the Ralph's grocery store while store employees stocked shelves overnight. Police reports said the suspect also allegedly destroyed numerous bags of potato chips.

Theft

Oct. 12, 12:50 p.m., Pacific Coast Highway
Unknown persons broke into a clothing donation drop box and allegedly took donated clothing.

Assault

Oct. 19, 9:05 a.m., 3300 block of The Strand
A roommate was observed striking another roommate with an open hand.

Breaking and Entering

Oct. 15, 8:05 a.m., 1300 block of Manhattan Avenue
An unknown person allegedly broke the right passenger window of a parked vehicle and took an unknown amount of items from the car.

Oct. 17, 7:00 a.m., Pier Plaza
An unknown person allegedly found a spare set of keys and used them to open the front door of a business and steal from the cash register.

Oct. 20, 4:00 p.m., 1200 block of Pacific Coast Highway
Unknown persons smashed the glass door of a business and allegedly stole cash and other items from the closed business.

Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Oct. 16, 3:16 p.m., 1000 block of Aviation Boulevard
During a traffic stop, officers arrested a suspect on suspicion of possession of drug paraphernalia. The suspect was also currently on felony probation.
