Michael Dyer, 29, of Long Beach was arrested on suspicion of sexually assaulting a 'cleaning lady' at his , police announced Monday.
The victim, who works as a cleaning person at a building where Dyer works told police, and her employer, that she was offered money by the suspect for alleged sexual acts, according to a Hermosa Beach Police Department statement.
The victim, whose name was not released (customary in alleged sex cases), told police she repeatedly rejected Dyer's offers and was then allegedly verbally and physically threatened by him, according to the statement by Hermosa Beach police.
As the victim attempted to leave, Dyer allegedly followed her into a restroom and locked the door to prevent her from escaping, according to the police statement.
Police said that the victim managed to escape and subsequently contacted her employer and HBPD for assistance.
After detectives responded to the call, the suspect was positively identified by the victim and was transported to HBPD jail and booked.
Dyer was booked on a charge of sexual battery and is being held in lieu of $50,000 bail.
