Man Found Dead on Greenbelt in Hermosa Beach

A man was found dead on the greenbelt near 30th Street Monday morning in Hermosa Beach, said Det. Dean Garkow of the Hermosa Beach Police Department.

The man is described as a white male probably in his 40s. He was wearing jogging attire, said Garkow. The Los Angeles County coroner will determine cause of death and notify relatives.

Garkow said "someone came to the station" to report that someone who was on the greenbelt was "possibly sleeping" or dead. When authorities found the man, they declared him deceased.

Foul play is not suspected, and there were no obvious signs of trauma to the body, said Sgt. Don Jones.
