Officials Brace for Parade, Revelers this Weekend

The St. Patrick's Day weekend is expected to bring lots of activity to the city so authorities are preparing to keep everyone safe.

St. Patrick's Day weekend is sure to bring out revelers.

In order to prepare for a "safe, festive and lawful atmosphere in Hermosa Beach," Hermosa Beach city officials have worked with local restaurant and club owners, said Mayor Patrick “Kit” Bobko.

“The City of Hermosa Beach welcomes and encourages visitors during the St. Patrick’s Day weekend," he said. "We just ask that everyone celebrate responsibly.

"We appreciate the local restaurant and club owners working with the police and other city officials to ensure Hermosa Beach is a safe and fun place to celebrate the weekend,” he said.

The city's 9th Annual Hermosa Beach St. Patrick’s Day Parade takes place Saturday beginning at 11 a.m. All are welcome to attend this festive and family friendly event.

An estimated 30,000 people attend the parade and enjoy the community’s wide selection of restaurants, shops and clubs, said Matt Bennett of the Hermosa Beach Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Bureau, which is sponsoring the parade for the 3rd year in a row.  

City officials expect the celebration to continue on Sunday, the actual date of St. Patrick’s Day.”
