As partygoers gathered in Hermosa Beach on Monday to celebrate Independence Day, Hermosa police were kept busy monitoring the crowds. An arrest was made and brawls broke out—here is a roundup of the recent crime.

Alleged Stabbing

Police reported arresting a man Monday on suspicion of stabbing four people with a broken beer bottle. The arrest was made on the corner of 2nd Street and the Strand around 3:40 p.m. after witnesses told police they saw the assaults occur.

The man was booked in the Hermosa Beach Police Department jail, according to police reports. None of the victims were reported as being in life-threatening conditions.

Street Robbery

A man and his acquaintance on Pier Plaza on Monday forcibly snatched a person's phone and wallet, according to police reports. The items were later returned to the victim, but the wallet was missing $200.

Man Attacked

A man lost consciousness on the 100 block of Beach Drive on Monday evening after being attacked, according to police reports. He reportedly was kicked in the head during the fight.
