A laptop was stolen from a home in the 2400 block of Park Avenue on Wednesday when the suspected burglar threw a brick through the window to gain access, according to Hermosa Beach police reports. The burglary was reported around 9 a.m.

Package snatched from doorstep

A FedEx package containing medical equipment was stolen from a doorstep in the 800 block of Cypress Avenue, according to police. The equipment was reported stolen around 11 p.m. Tuesday and is valued at more than $950.

Women stand up to robber

A man holding a knife attempted to steal money from two women working at a business in the 1100 block of Hermosa Avenue early Tuesday, according to police. The man entered the business through the back door, a police report said, but "did not succeed" in his attempt. The crime was reported around midnight.
