Police Blotter: Grand Theft and Burglary

Woman's purse is taken while dancing at a local nightclub.

The following information was provided by the Hermosa Beach Police Department:

February 27

GRAND THEFT: A woman came to the Hermosa Beach Police Department to report that her purse had been stolen while she was dancing at Cafe Boogaloo. The day after reporting the missing purse, she returned to the HBPD to report that one of her credit cards from the purse had been used several times. The victim estimated the purse and its content to be worth more than $2,600.

March 2

BURGLARY:  A Hermosa Beach resident left her apartment for approximately 10 minutes and returned to find that her checkbook with $400 in cash was missing. The victim admitted to leaving the front door open but no other items from the residence were missing or disturbed.

March 6

THEFT: A Redondo Beach man's surfboard was stolen after he left it unattended for a matter of minutes on the median at Hermosa Ave near Longfellow Avenue. The surfboard, which is valued at $650, was taken around 11:15 a.m.
