Argument leads to fatal shooting, police say

Police responded shortly before 6 p.m. Friday to a report that a man had fatally shot himself in the head at a residence in the 100 block of Lyndon Street, according to police reports.

Police said the man had been drinking and arguing with a woman, who also had been drinking, when he grabbed a gun and threatened to kill her. The man then reportedly went into his bedroom and shot himself in the head, police said. He was later pronounced dead at the scene, police said. An investigation is continuing and coroner's autopsy results are pending.

A woman’s cellphone was grabbed out of her hands Friday in the 300 block of Pacific Coast Highway, police reported. The woman told police that the robber took the phone by force and then fled on foot.

Plaza Hermosa theft

Items were stolen Saturday from a store at Plaza Hermosa, in the 700 block of Pier Avenue, according to police reports. The value of the items stolen had not been reported.

Woman shoved, robbed of purse

A woman had her purse snatched in front of her home Sunday, according to police reports. The woman told police she was walking to the front door of her home in the 1800 block of Manhattan Avenue when a man pushed her to the ground and took her purse. She was not able to provide a description of the man, police said.
