Police Blotter: Theft Cases

A suspect smashes a car window to steal a purse, and a home is broken into. Here is a summary of recent crime in Hermosa Beach.

Stolen Purse

A vehicle on the 100 block of 28th Court was broken into Friday at 3:09 p.m., according to police reports. The suspect smashed the passenger side window to snatch a purse and make-up kit. Credit cards found in the purse were used to make several fraudulent purchases.

House Burglary

A laptop computer and money was taken from a Hermosa Beach home on 10th Street, near the Strand, according to police. The residents were not home during the crime Sunday at 2:23 a.m. The front door to the home was locked, but a window was left open.

 Shoplifting

Suspects stole alcohol from a store on the 700 block of Pier Avenue on Sunday at 1:55 p.m. The items were taken from the store without being paid for.
