Police Investigating Violent Attack
A man suspected in the assault early Sunday on Hermosa Avenue is in custody, but officers are asking witnesses to come forward.
Police have arrested a man suspected of attacking a person over the weekend, but now they're turning to residents for help.
William Sebastian Kanongataa, 23, who lives in Carson, allegedly assaulted a man on the 1100 block of Hermosa Avenue early Sunday morning.
Someone called police around 1:30 a.m. to report an altercation. When officers arrived, they said they found the victim unconscious near a taxicab stand.

A witness then pointed out Kanongataa to officers while he was running away, and police eventually caught him. The unconscious victim was hospitalized with severe head trauma. No other details about the victim have been released.
