Police Blotter: Biker Impaled, Missing Credit Card, Passport and 3rd Row SUV Seats

Police respond to all sorts of calls; some urgent or serious, others not as much so. Here are a few examples of the kinds of police reports filed in Hermosa Beach.

Patch stopped by the Hermosa Beach Police Department recently to peruse reports.

Here are some of the more interesting ones.

At about 1 a.m. on Sept. 2, a patron of Ocean Bar gave a server an American Express and identity card that were not returned. Wrote the individual, "I gave them both these items for a tab and they lost both."

Also on Sept. 2, HBPD responded to a bike crash on a bike path adjacent The Strand with "one thigh impaled by a metal bike basket."

On Sept. 3, a report was filed in which the report filer wrote, "I lost my passport in Yosemite National Park between 8/18 and 8/19."

And as is a fairly frequent occurrence in the Beach Cities, a third row seat in a Chevy Suburban's was reported missing. The Suburban's owner discovered the theft around 8:45 a.m. on Sept. 8. The vehicle was parked in the driveway around 4 p.m. on Sept. 7 on 31st Street.
