Police Searching for Avanti Jewelers Robber
A gunman takes cash and expensive items from the PCH store.
The parking lot was empty and window blinds tightly shut at Avanti Jewelers in Hermosa Beach on Tuesday after the store closed due to a morning robbery.
A gunman entered the store, which is located at 1200 Pacific Coast Highway, around 11 a.m., according to reports, tied up the store clerk and ran off with $500 cash and expensive jewelry.
After the thief escaped, the store clerk was able to untie himself and immediately called police. Detectives are investigating the robbery, according to police Chief Greg Savelli.

The shop will reopen Wednesday.
