Small Plane Enters President's Air Space Forced to Land
The aircraft was intercepted by fighter jets and was required to land after entering restricted airspace.
A small private airplane was forced to land at El Monte Airport today after the pilot apparently inadvertently entered air space that was restricted due to 's visit to the Southland.
The aircraft was intercepted by fighter jets and was required to land about 10 a.m., and the pilot was interviewed by members of the United States Secret Service, said El Monte police Lt. Dan Burlingham.
Preliminary indications were that the pilot "wasn't paying attention'' and unknowingly violated the restricted air space, Burlingham said.
