Two videos posted to the video sharing site YouTube show fights that broke out during a beach party in Hermosa Beach on the Fourth of July near Second Street.
Both videos show fights between multiple people—possibly teenagers—that escalated on the beach.
At the end of one video, Los Angeles County Sheriff's deputies and Hermosa Beach police officers handcuff one young man.
Another video shows a young male laying unconscious on the beach—apparently knocked out in the fight—as bystanders come to his aid.
"This guy is hurt," says someone off-camera in the video.
Hermosa Beach Police Sgt. Robert Higgins told Patch last week that near the same location on July 4 and overwhelmed police forces.
The gathering, which was announced and spread through social media, attracted teenagers from across Southern California and led to one police officer getting punched in the face while trying to break up a fight, said Higgins.
"It turned into a giant free-for-all party down there that was really a lot more than we can handle with the limited resources we have," Higgins said. "It was huge."
