Kings' Doughty Accused of Sexual Assault

Prosecutors are reviewing an allegation that Doughty sexually assaulted a woman in his Hermosa Beach home after an encounter at Baja Sharkeez on Pier Avenue. However, police say the woman has credibility issues.

Los Angeles County prosecutors will decide this week whether to press charges against LA Kings player Drew Doughty after a woman, who police say has credibility issues, alleged she was sexually assaulted by Doughty in his Hermosa Beach home in March, reports The Daily Breeze.

According to the Breeze, the 25-year-old woman told investigators Doughty forced her into a cab outside of Baja Sharkeez in Hermosa Beach after she rejected him in front of teammates, took her to his home and then raped her, police said.

Doughty told police that the sex was consensual and Doughty's attorney says he expects charges to be dropped this week, according to a Los Angeles Times article.

Hermosa Beach Police Sgt. Robert Higgins also told the Times that the woman has been uncooperative with the investigation and also has credibility issues.

D.A. spokeswoman Sandi Gibbons told the LA Weekly that prosecutors hope to have the case completely reviewed by the end of the week.
