Community Garden on Council Agenda

The Hermosa Beach City Council will discuss amending the South Park Master Plan to allow permanent space for the community garden.

As Hermosa Beach residents have been planting garden greens in the in South Park, the city will consider whether to make the garden a permanent part of the park.

In a meeting Tuesday night, the City Council will hold a public hearing to discuss the construction of a permanent community garden as part of the South Park renovation master plan (see accompanying city staff report under photo.)

The garden would be placed in the northeast corner of the park.

More taxicabs could be on their way to Hermosa Beach's downtown. The council will hold a public hearing to discuss whether to allow 40 more taxicabs to serve the area.

The council will consider a recommendation from the Parks and Recreation Commission to install two new volleyball courts on the beach just south of 16th Street.

Council members also will discuss a Planning Commission resolution adopted in October in relation to hours and permissions at .
