Council to Evaluate City Manager, Again

Another closed-door meeting has been scheduled for Monday to assess City Manager Steve Burrell's performance.

Before its budget workshop Monday night, the Hermosa Beach City Council has scheduled another closed-door meeting to review the performance of City Manager Steve Burrell (see accompanying meeting agenda under photo.)

Some council members have criticized Burrell for not being responsive to their requests for city reports.

This has been as a special closed meeting was held June 3 to evaluate Burrell's performance.

During a recent city budget meeting on May 26, City Councilmen Kit Bobko and Michael DiVirgilio both pointed out that specific reports and items they had requested from Burrell and city staffers were not included in the meeting materials.

As a result, the council voted 3-1 (with Mayor Peter Tucker in the minority and Councilman Jeff Duclos absent) to reconvene so that the requested materials could be a part of the budget discussion.
