Hermosa Ahead in Water Conservation Contest

The Wyland Foundation's annual friendly competition to help people be more water-wise takes place the month of April in honor of Earth Day.

The city of Hermosa Beach is No. 1 so far in The Wyland Foundation's National Mayor's Challenge for Water Conservation that ends on April 30.

The month-long challenge that began April 1 is designed to get citizens to take action in ways that are "water-wise."

Hermosa currently has the lead over Laguna Beach for cities with populations ranging from 5,000 to 29,999. The remaining top 10 contenders hail from states other than California.
