Hermosa Beach City Council Issues Statement on Passing of John Parsons

The Hermosa Beach City Council issued a statement Monday regarding the recent death of former Redondo Beach City Councilman John Parsons. It reads:

“All of us on the Hermosa Beach City Council were deeply saddened by the news of John Parsons’ death. He was a dedicated public servant who served the City of Redondo Beach admirably as a council member and, most recently, as a planning commissioner. He was also crucial to saving the Los Angeles Air Force Base from closure, an effort that saved tens of thousands of jobs across the South Bay. He had a long, active history in Redondo Beach and was a friend to Hermosa Beach. Our condolences go out to his family, friends and all that had the pleasure of working with him during his long career. He will be truly missed.”
