Hermosa Beach Elections Gaining Steam

At least 18 candidates will be on the ballot for city council, treasurer and school board.

Summer isn’t officially over yet, but already, election season is starting to take shape in Hermosa Beach.

So far at least 18 candidates plan to run for for city council, city treasurer and school board, according to an article by The Beach Reporter.

Three city council seats are up for grabs this November, and that race will include incumbents Mayor Kit Bobko and Councilman Jeff Duclos—as well as Nanette Barragan, Hany Fangary, Carolyn Petty, Greg Savelli and John Bowler.

J.R. Reviczky and Karen Nowicki will faceoff in the race for city treasurer.

Hermosa Beach City School District’s Board of Education will also have three vacancies. Incumbent Carleen Beste will run alongside Douglas Gneiser, Tammy Pao, Seth Weiss, Margaret Bove-Lamonica, Jim Caldwell, Mary Campbell, Michael Goodhue and James Scott.
