Hermosa Still Leads on Last Day of Water Challenge

The regional competition to pledge to conserve water ends April 30.

The month-long Wyland Foundation's Mayor’s Challenge for Water Conservation comes to an end Saturday. And with about 14 hours left in the contest, Hermosa Beach holds onto 1st Place.

Throughout the month of April, Patch has been following the city's ranking in the region-wide competition that encourages residents to conserve water by taking an online pledge to practice "water-saving" habits, such as using refillable water bottles or taking shorter showers.

The city with the highest percentage of residents taking the pledge wins the challenge, which kicked off April 1.
