Macpherson Oil Settlement on Council Agenda

The Hermosa Beach City Council is to discuss informing residents about the Macpherson Oil Co. settlement, among other meeting agenda items.

The Hermosa Beach City Council in a meeting Tuesday night will discuss whether to form a temporary subcommittee that would focus on sharing information about the Macpherson Oil Co. settlement with the public.

If the council appoints an ad hoc team, city staffers recommend that two council members serve on the committee (see accompanying city staff report under photo.)

The council approved on March 2.

The council in its meeting will review an update report on the cleanliness of the trash facilities at Lots A and B adjacent to Pier Plaza. A six-month pilot program has been in effect since August to maintain the enclosure after it became a sanitation issue.

Council members also will discuss whether to involve the city in two community volunteer efforts: the third annual on April 28 and the Keller Williams Culture Committee Red Day on May 10 (the group is interested in doing a beach cleanup.)
