Metro Gives Free Rides for the Holidays

In efforts to reduce drunk driving during the holidays, Metro will be offering free rides and buses on Christmas and New Year's eves.

In an effort to prevent drinking and driving, Metro will offer free rides on buses and trains on Christmas Eve from 9 p.m. until 2 a.m. Christmas Day.

Free rides will also be offered during the same hours on New Year's Eve.

Metro rail will operate all night on New Year's Eve to encourage safe travel and to get people to use public transit to the Rose Parade in Pasadena on New Year's Day, but the free fares will apply only until 2 a.m.

The transit system will operate on a typical Sunday schedule on Christmas Day and New Year's Day.
