New Mayor Rotation on Council Agenda
Mayor Pro Tempore Howard Fishman will be appointed as the new mayor of Hermosa Beach on Tuesday night.
Hermosa Beach's ceremonial appointment of mayor is scheduled to kick off a Hermosa Beach City Council meeting Tuesday night.
Mayor Peter Tucker will designate for a term ending April 10, 2012.
The also will see changes as the council in its meeting plans to fill two expiring terms on the parks panel. Each appointment is for a four-year term ending June 30, 2015.

The council will discuss appointing a member and alternate to represent Hermosa Beach on the Bay Watershed Council of the Santa Monica Bay Restoration Commission.
The council will consider appointing a delegate and alternate for the League of California Cities annual conference.

Council members will hold a public hearing during their meeting to review delinquent refuse charges and consider including them as part of the county property tax collection as a special assessment, which only would affect those properties with refuse bills delinquent as of March 31.
Property owners who would be affected by the council's decision are invited to speak during the hearing about their delinquent refuse bills (see accompanying city staff report under photo.)
The council also will review a report on updating the city's Housing Element and the Regional Housing Needs Allocation process, which quantifies the need for housing in communities during specified planning periods, according to the Southern California Association of Governments.
The council meeting is Tuesday at 7 p.m. in council chambers.
