Properly Dispose of Household Hazardous and E-Waste Saturday

The collection will take place in Hermosa Beach.

Hazardous household waste and e-waste, including old electronics and cans of paint, can be properly disposed of Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Clark Stadium on Valley Drive between 8th and 11th streets in Hermosa Beach.

All electronic waste collected Saturday will be sent to a facility within the state that certifies it is 100% demanufactured and recycled in a stringent and environmentally acceptable manner to the commodity level in the United States, according a information onlnine.

  • Brake fluid, paint, paint thinner, cleaners with acid or lye, pesticides or herbicides, household batteries and car batteries, pool chemicals, motor oil, oil filters, expired pharmaceuticals, anti-freeze, and fluorescent light bulbs.

  • Household electronic waste which includes: Computer monitors, televisions, computer CPUs, keyboards, printers, cellular phones, etc.

  • Brought in a sturdy box, preferably in their original labeled containers.

  • Not mixed the together.

There is a limit of 15 gallons or 125 pounds of hazardous waste per trip. You should also be prepared to leave your containers and boxes. Remove all other items from your trunk before you bring you materials for disposal.

The following items cannot be disposed of on Saturday, so please do not bring any of the following:

  • Hazardous waste and electronic waste from businesses.

  • Explosives, ammunition and radioactive materials.

  • Trash and tires.

  • White goods such as refrigerators, stoves and washing machines, etc.

  • Controlled substances.

The disposal event is open to all residents of Los Angeles County.
