The Hermosa Beach City Council and community members will discuss in a meeting Tuesday night whether two additional volleyball courts should be installed on the beach just south of 16th Street.

The discussion was set to be held in December, but was pushed back to this week.

Hermosa Beach resident Dan Inskeep first suggested that the additional courts be added to the local beach.

The Parks and Recreation Commission supported the idea and proposed the courts be installed about 50 feet from the Strand wall (see accompanying city staff report under photo.)

The panel also asked that the courts be monitored through September and then reviewed again at a commission meeting in October—but the council first has to approve the courts.
