Supreme Court Takes No Action on Prop. 8, Gay Marriage Cases

The nation's high court could make an announcement on the issue Monday.

The U.S. Supereme Court made no announcement Friday of its decisions on cases pertaining to gay marriage, according to news reports.

In addition to a case about the constituionality of California's Proposition 8 ban of gay marriage, justices are considering whether they should accept or reject five cases challenging federal law that prevents married same-sex couples from receiving Social Security survivor benefits, joint income tax filing, the abiliity to inherit a deceased spouse's pension or acquire family health insurance.

The court may annouce the cases it will hear or decline on Monday or sometime next week.

gay marriage is an equal rights issue everyone is entitled to their own opinion but when it comes to equal rights there is definitely a right and wrong there was a time when black people couldn't marry white people,that was the law but it didn't make it right,no matter what anyone's opinion was
