Three Women Part of November Candidate Field

Nine potential candidates may run for three available City Council seats in the November election.

Two more women are among the candidates for City Council and city treasurer to pull and file their official nomination papers, according to the Hermosa Beach city clerk's office Monday.

Nanette Barragan joins Carolyn J. Petty in the City Council race for three available seats in November. Karen S. Nowicki becomes the only city treasurer candidate to pull and file papers so far.

Julius (J.R.) Reviczky has pulled papers to run for city treasurer. Anyone who wants to run for the position must pull and file papers by 5 p.m. Friday.

City council candidates have until 5 p.m. Friday, as well, to pull and file papers unless an incumbent does not file by that time. Incumbents Jeffrey A. Duclos and Patrick "Kit" Bobko have pulled papers but not yet filed them. Both have said they will seek re-election. Current council member Howard Fishman publicly announced he will not seek re-election.

Other potential city council candidates include Mark A. Hymanson, John L. Bowler, Robert Atkins, Gregory J. Savelli and Hany S. Fangary.
