DiVirgilio, Tucker maintain council seats

Hermosa Beach City Councilmen Michael DiVirgilio and Peter Tucker to office in Tuesday night's municipal election. In a tight race, DiVirgilio earned 29.36 percent of ballots cast. Tucker followed with 27.95 percent of votes.

Cohn wins City Treasurer seat

Longtime Hermosa Beach resident and corporate managing director David Cohn defeated incumbent John Workman in . Cohn earned 56.63 percent of ballots cast. Workman followed with 43.37 percent.

Workman dies

Just days following Tuesday's municipal election, City Treasurer John Workman on Friday at age 73. "The City Council, all the city’s employees and people across Hermosa Beach are deeply saddened by the passing of John Workman," said Hermosa Beach Mayor Howard Fishman in a statement Friday.

Measure N passes

Hermosa Beach voters with 60 percent of ballots cast in a municipal election Tuesday night. Residents voted down a competing measure, whose creator has said was "flawed."

Who did you vote for?

Voters across the South Bay on Tuesday about which candidates and measures they voted for in local elections. "I hurried down here to vote for Mr. Cohn for treasurer," said Hermosa Beach resident Wanda Smith.
