Soul Rebels Bring the Brass to Saint Rocke

One of New Orleans’ premiere brass bands, Soul Rebels, is leaving the bayou and will be here at Saint Rocke, August 2nd. You might recognize them from when they played the 2013 NFL Honors Award Show hosted by Alec Baldwin during Superbowl weekend last year in New Orleans. They have also played packed houses at Austin City Limits, and sold out nights at the Brooklyn Bowl in New York. Made up of eight members, Soul Rebels are a force to be reckoned with.

With their own originality but with HEAVY brass band influence, Soul Rebels had to figure out a way to make a name for themselves in a city full of music and other brass bands. “We wanted to make our own sound without disrespecting the brass tradition,” LeBlanc recalls, “so we knew we had to break away.” They definitely did and since then, have shared the stage with notable artists including Metallica, Green Day, Maceo Parker, Galactic, Karl Denson, Slick Rick, Suzanne Vega and David A. Stewart of the Eurythmics, as well as billings with Kanye West, Snoop Dogg, Arcade Fire, Alabama Shakes, Estelle, Seal, Cee Lo Green, and Dr. John.

Don’t forget to stop by Saint Rocke on August 2nd and witness something truly amazing. Bro’s, brews, and a brass band; sounds like a recipe for epicness.
