The Green at Saint Rocke

The Green is on tour and making their way to Saint Rocke. On June 9th, The Green will be stopping by for a one-time show in the Los Angeles area. Forming in Oahu in 2009, these local Hawaiians have hit the reggae scene hard. The Green consists of six members, Caleb Keolanui (Lead Vocals,) Ikaika Antone  (Keys/Vocals,) JP Kennedy  (Guitar/Vocals,) Zion Thompson (Guitar/Vocals,) Brad “BW” Watanabe (Bass) and Jordan Espinoza (Drums.)

Because of their original sound, The Green is a force to be reckoned with. Billboard describes it best,  “fuses late 1970s-era dub-heavy roots reggae with strands of contemporary rock/pop/R&B and sporadic indigenous Hawaiian musical and lyrical references.” Their debut album was iTunes’ Best Reggae Album in 2010. Their second album, “Ways & Means” spent four weeks at #1 on Billboard’s Reggae Chart in 2011.

The Green is currently on their Take Me On Tour. They started in Honolulu and will end the tour in Santa Barbara. These guys live to play live, and you’d be a fool not to experience them in concert. You can download their albums on iTunes or stream them on SoundCloud. Come to Saint Rocke, June 9th and let their music consume your body.
