The Marshall Tucker Band and Headline County

Wed, May 21, 2014 8:00pm (Doors at 05:00pm) Tickets $50

The Marshall Tucker Band, one of the major Southern rock bands of the '70s, kicks off its 43rd year on the road with the announcement of its 2014 Take The Highway Tour. The band's blend of rock, rhythm and blues, jazz, country, and gospel helped establish the Southern rock genre in the early 1970s, with other bands such as Lynyrd Skynyrd and the Allman Brothers band. They gained recognition through touring with the Allman Brothers Band and found success during the course of the '70s. Their peak came with the million-selling album Carolina Dreams and its Top 15 single "Heard It in a Love Song" in 1977. Since then, the group has continued to write, record, tour, and entertain fans across the world. Their love and passion for the southern rock genre is infectious and enduring.

Anyone remember that killer song that was playing during the movie “Blow” with Johnny Depp? “Can’t you see, whoa, can’t you see, what that woman, Lord, she’s been doin’ to me?” Well here’s your chance to see it LIVE! “Can’t You See” is one of my favorite songs. As an intern I’m so thrilled I get to see them live for the first time in such an intimate venue. I’ve heard from other friends who’ve had the opportunity to see them live, and the one common theme I hear is how timeless they are and how they seem to actually get better with age.
