Makana Does It All

Makana can do anything you can do better.

Have you ever known someone that is just good at everything? They seem to get everything right because they have talent in just about every single thing they try their hand at? Makana is one of those people.

Hawaiian born and raised, Makana began playing music at the age of seven when he picked up the ukulele, and only 4 years later started playing the slack key guitar. Flash forward and Makana is now recognized as the greatest living slack key guitarist of all time (and you may have heard his tunes in George Clooney's latest release, The Descendants).

Not only is Makana one heck of a slack key guitarist, but he has a few other tricks up his sleeve. And by tricks, I mean awesomeness. He's a singer, composer, philosopher, activist, and one of Hawaii's cultural activists. Is there anything this guy can't do? Probably not.

See Makana at Saint Rocke this Wednesday, November 28th. Doors open at 5PM, show starts at 8PM. For tickets please visit saintrocke.com.

Freedom is based on a sure identity, that I know who I am, but more importantly WHOSE I am. WhenRead More the LORD sent Moses to deliver His people, that was the beginning of their liberty. They were a particular people to the LORD, whose name is better understand as "He who was, is, and always will be." Not a god made of stone or wood, but the One who made, makes, and evermore makes and gives to us: the LORD took Israel by the hand and led them from bondage to slavery. Not who you are, but whose you are, makes all the difference between bondage and liberty: "For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father." (Romans 8: 15) Have you been adopted yet? "
