'Anything Goes' on Stage at Mira Costa

The zany musical features MCHS students.

Delight to the music and lyrics of Cole Porter's "Anything Goes," on stage Saturday at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday at 3:30 p.m., Thursday and Friday at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, April 27 at 2 and 7:30 p.m. as the Mira Costa drama department stages this comedic musical.

The MCHS drama department is fresh off its Sweepstakes Award honor from the Fullerton College High School Theatre Festival for best high school.

"Anything Goes" features madcap antics aboard an ocean liner bound from New York to London. Billy Crocker, a stowaway, is in love with heiress Hope Harcourt, who is engaged to Lord Evelyn Oakleigh. Nightclub singer Reno Sweeney and Public Enemy #13 Moonface Martin help Billy try to win Hope. The musical introduced the songs "Anything Goes," "You're the Top" and "I Get a Kick Out of You."

Adult tickets are $15; students and seniors, $12. Tickets can be purchased at the box office prior to showtime or at Uncorked The Wine Shop in Hermosa Beach and Dietz Bros. Music and Patterson Cleaners in Manhattan Beach. Tickets may also be bought online; an additional $1 Paypal fee is applied.
