Americans eat out on average over 110 times each year. The goal of the restaurant initiative is to promote healthier dining experiences for customers, while simultaneously supporting the success of local restaurant owners. Through the initiative, restaurateurs will receive training how to enhance menu items, better promote healthy choices, and alter other characteristics of the dining experience to help customers make healthier choices when eating out. Restaurant chefs, owners, managers, staff, and customers are invited to create a strategy to engage the hundreds of restaurants in the beach cities.
