MCHS Boys Beat No. 2 Team in Nation

Punahou was ranked No. 2 nationwide in the third weekly ESPN boys volleyball poll. Mira Costa was No. 4 in the same poll.

The Mira Costa boys volleyball team took down Punahou Saturday night in Hawaii, 25-19, 15-25, 25-14, 25-17, according to scoringlive.com.

The victory practically ensures that the MCHS team will gain ground in ESPN's Powerade Fab 50 weekly poll which lists the top high school boys volleyball teams nationwide. In the latest poll, MCHS was ranked No. 4; Punahou No. 2.

MCHS' rival Loyola High has held the No. 1 spot in each of the poll's three weeks; Mira Costa has moved from No. 6 in week one to No. 4 in week three of the poll.

The Mustangs continue Bay League play on Thursday against Palos Verdes at PV at 5:30 p.m.

The Mustangs were in Hawaii to play in the Clash of the Titans tournament.

You can watch each of their two matches online via Punahou School's YouTube channel where they archive past webcasts. The webcasts are usually available within seven days of the live broadcast, according to the Punahou School webcasts webpage.
