AAU Volleyball Tournament to Be Televised

Time Warner will broadcast action from the AAU Junior Beach Volleyball National Championship held this past weekend in Hermosa Beach.

For those that didn't make it to Hermosa Beach this weekend to watch the AAU Junior Beach Volleyball National Championship in person, there is still a chance to catch highlights from the tournament.

Time Warner Cable will telecast select tournament championship matches during prime time Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. on its SoCal 101 station, the cable company announced in a release.

The broadcast will feature the final matches from the girls under 16, under 14 and under 18 divisions as well as the boys under 16 division.

Commentary will be provided by Randy Rosenbloom, Denny Lennon and Bob Gibson.

The AAU (Amateur Athletic Union) Junior Beach Volleyball National Championship this year saw more than 150 beach volleyball teams from around the country compete for the national title and featured many Southern Californian and local student athletes, the release said.

's London Chow, who competed in this year's tournament, was also presented the 2011 AAU Player of the Year award during the weekend's events.

According to organizers, the tournament is the oldest and largest junior tournament on the AAU beach volleyball tour and has been hosted in Hermosa Beach for the past 17 years.

AAU Tournament Broadcast Air Dates:

  • Wednesday, July 18 at 7:30 p.m.
  • Friday, July 20 at 9:00 p.m.
  • Saturday, July 21 at 4:00 p.m.
  • Sunday, July 22 at 10:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m.
  • Monday, July 23 at 8:00 p.m.
