Beach Volleyball High Performance Tryouts to Kick Off

USA Volleyball has released this year's schedule for beach high-performance tryouts, which kick off in Hermosa Beach in March.

High-performance tryouts are held to select athletes for Future Select-U15, Select-U17, Youth-U19, Junior-U21, and Senior A2-U26 national beach volleyball teams that represent the U.S. in various competitions, including the high-performance championships to be held in Hermosa Beach on July 18-22.

"Each tryout will include four hours of beach time where athletes will receive instruction and strive to be selected for one of the USAV Beach High Performance Programs. Athletes are evaluated and ranked based on the entire tryout population from across the country," according to USA Volleyball, the country's national governing body for the sport of volleyball.

Registration for tryouts will open Wednesday, and USA Volleyball beach staffers will lead the tryouts. All beach athletes ages 12 to 25 are invited to try out, according to USA Volleyball, which adds that registration and a $70 fee is required.
