Costa-Loyola Football Showdown to Stream Live

Friday night's match between Mira Costa High School and host Loyola is generating much attention—it will be broadcast on the Internet.

The football face-off between Mira Costa High School and Loyola on Friday night at LA Valley College is a big game—not only because many players at Loyola live in the South Bay area, but also the game is one of just four prep football events that Fox Sports is streaming live online.

A pre-game show kicks off coverage at 6:30 p.m.

Mira Costa players could seemingly care less about the coverage. More than anything, the Mustangs have said they would enjoy beating Loyola, which has had its number recently, in the worst way.

"At their house and starting our season would give us some big momentum for the rest of the year," said Quinn "Tank" Goldman, Costa's 5-8, 205-pound defensive end-fullback.

"We’ve never beaten this team on the varsity level since I’ve been here," he said. "We’ve played them three times. Still, you’ve got to treat this game like any other game. You have to calm down and not get caught up in the hype. You have to focus. We know they’re a good team, but if we keep our composure, we can get them. This is a battle with two good teams. It is every year. But I think we can get them this time."
