Announcing The Hermosa Five-O Laughter Club meeting every Thursday 5:00-6:00pm at the Hermosa Beach Senior Activity Center, 710 Pier Avenue. This group is free and open to 50 years of age and over, led by Matthew Rand, a certified Laughter Yoga instructor.  Simply show up and be ready to laugh and let go of stress.

A laughter club is a group of people who gets together to laugh as a form of exercise, without the use of humor, comedy, or jokes.  Laughter Yoga is an exercise developed by Medical Doctor Madan Kataria of Mumbai, India.  It is based on the scientific fact that the body does not know a difference between "fake" or "pretend" laughter and real laughter.  In a good group with good eye contact, the fake turns real very quickly.  "Laughter Yoga is the most reliable delivery system for the health benefits of laughter." -- Madan Kataria, M.D.

During a typical laughter session, the leader will lead the group through 12-15 different laughter exercises created by Dr. Kataria.  The idea is to keep up the laughter for 20-30 minutes (including short breaks) for cardiavascular benefits and abdominal exercise.  The session usually ends with a short period of rest and relaxation.

More than 8,000 laughter clubs in 85 countries worldwide meet either daily or weekly.  In India approximately 3,000 laughter clubs meet every day.  A major purpose of laughter clubs is to dissolve the negative effects of stress, also to bring about a chlid like sense of playfulness and joyfulness.

Join the Hermosa Beach Laughter Club every Thursday at 5pm to laugh, relax and make new friends.  Hermosa Beach Senior Activity Center, 710 Pier Avenue.  All are welcome who are over 50 years of age.

Freedom is based on a sure identity, that I know who I am, but more importantly WHOSE I am. WhenRead More the LORD sent Moses to deliver His people, that was the beginning of their liberty. They were a particular people to the LORD, whose name is better understand as "He who was, is, and always will be." Not a god made of stone or wood, but the One who made, makes, and evermore makes and gives to us: the LORD took Israel by the hand and led them from bondage to slavery. Not who you are, but whose you are, makes all the difference between bondage and liberty: "For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father." (Romans 8: 15) Have you been adopted yet? "
