Predicting March Madness Champion
Residents tell Patch which team they think will reign supreme in the 2011 NCAA Men's Basketball tournament.
As Sunday marks the start of March Madness, Patch hit the streets and asked residents which NCAA Men's Division I Basketball teams they will cheer on. Several favored the Ohio State Buckeyes, but homegrown teams such as UCLA have not been counted out.
"Who wouldn't want a sunny team from the Pac-10 to win the NCAA championship," said Manhattan Beach resident Devin Hennessey.
The 72-year-old single elimination tournament showcases college basketball at its best. This year, 68 conference tournament champions and NCAA committee-selected teams will vie for the title. The opening round starts Tuesday and the championship game is scheduled for April 4.
