Beach Cities Toy Drive Wrapping to Begin

Volunteers are invited to join in wrapping presents for children in need at the Hermosa Beach Community Center.

Ready, set, wrap! Volunteers will gather at the on Saturday with scissors and tape in hand to package toys donated during the annual .

All month toys have been collected at the Hermosa Beach and Manhattan Beach fire stations to later be given to children of local charities, including the Salvation Army, Harbor-UCLA Child Crisis Center, 1736 House, Richstone Center, Good Shepherd Center, and the Los Angeles County toy loan program.

During last year's event, J. R. Reviczky, former Hermosa Beach mayor, , "Charities left happy... There were plenty of gifts to go around."

Starting at 11 a.m., volunteers will wrap this year's donated toys before they are given to the charities. Last year, were wrapped—and the year before that, about 4,000 gifts were donated.

"It's a good feeling to know I am helping a kid have a better Christmas," said Natalie Cervantes of Torrance, during last year's wrapping event.

The Beach Cities Toy Drive wrapping party has been held annually for 19 years.
